A grateful and warm welcome to HP Construction, the latest member of our fantastic group pf sponsors and partners here at Sandygate. In this week’s sponsor feature, www.hallamfc.co.uk spoke with HP Construction Director David Hutchinson, and started by asking him a little about the Company.

Hallam FC has recently successful passed its FA Annual “Health check” and so retained its "Charter Standard" status; but what does this mean?
The FA Charter Standard Programme is The FA’s accreditation scheme open to all grassroots clubs and leagues. It aims to raise standards in the grassroots game, supporting the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding commitment, quality and achievement.
The FA Charter Standard accreditation is for clubs who can be proud to be places where people want to play. These are the clubs who demonstrate they offer well-run and sustainable football. Clubs which achieve The FA Charter Standard status are proud to prioritise qualified coaching and safeguarding as well as the values of The FA’s Respect campaign as part of their game.
In an amazing start to 2020, Hallam FC has teamed up with Bands FC for two fantastic celebrations of the close connection between football and music, write Ian Jones and John Wiseman for www.hallamfc.uk.
Founded by Nick Fraser and Mark Liptrott, Bands FC is based on a simple idea which came to the guys in July of 2019- “Bands as Football Teams, Football Teams as Bands”. Bands FC now has over 400 badges, has exhibited at the National Football Museum in Manchester, and sponsors Chorley-based junior side Briscall FC.
Bands FC have also raised huge sums of money for charitable causes including the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and for children affected by overseas conflicts. Read about their story and their mission on their website Bands FC
There was a familiar face in Hallam’s Technical Area on Tuesday night as former Parkgate and Maltby Main defender Danny Cardwell lined up as Assistant Manager alongside Joint Managers Stephen Whitehead and Ryan Hindley for the home win over Armthorpe Welfare, write Ian Jones and John Wiseman for the Hallam FC Website, www.hallamfc.co.uk.
With former Assistant Manager Wez Hill and First Team coach Simon Mirfin standing down, Stephen and Ryan moved quickly to strengthen the backroom staff-and they are both certain that they have the man they need.
Hallam FC Chairman, Steve Basford spoke to www.hallamfc.uk ahead of the festive period.
“I can’t remember us ever having to postpone so many games in a row before Christmas” ,Steve told us. “It’s been the same for many clubs in all Leagues and obviously causes many problems both on and off the pitch. We were all really hoping that we could get Saturday’s game at home to Parkgate on, as the atmosphere at the last home game before Christmas is always special. Unfortunately, the weather beat us once again, so it’s certainly going to be a busy second half of the season, home and away”.
Believe it or not, it won’t always be raining; and when the weather picks up, we’ll be able to turn to a sustainable source of water to keep our pitch in tip-top condition here at Sandygate-up to 500 litres, in fact. For that, it’s a massive thank-you to Mark Redfearn at MR Roofing, one of our brilliant sponsors, who has fitted a series of water butts to the gutter systems at Hallam FC. See our pics for Mark’s contact details.
