NCEL LogoFollowing an emergency NCEL board meeting the decision has been made to suspend all league action until January 2021.

The following statement has been put out by the Toolstation NCEL Management.

"The Toolstation NCEL management board held an emergency meeting on Monday evening to discuss whether to resume the league season when the COVID-19 national lockdown ends this week.

The league conducted a poll over the weekend to gauge the opinions of our clubs about playing fixtures behind closed doors due to the tier system which comes into effect on Wednesday 2nd December, 2020.

As it stands, 37 of our 40 teams will be placed into Tier 3 and therefore will be unable to admit spectators to matches.

80% of our clubs said that they would not want to play matches behind closed doors.

Worsbrough ticket refund, Sheffield Children’s Hospital Snowflake appeal

Corner flag

After selling out all the Worsbrough Bridge match tickets in just 11 minutes we were jubilant, and we recognise just how lucky we are to have such a great set of supporters. To find out the next day that we needed to cancel the game has been a tough call, but we need to protect the health and safety of our fans, staff and players during this pandemic.

With the uncertain and turbulent future of this playing season we cannot guarantee when this match will be played so have taken the decision not to hold these tickets and payments for a future date.

We do not sell tickets on a non-refundable basis and would see it as unfair to our supporters to retain their money when the match has not been played, as so we will be able to offer a refund to anyone who requests it.

Martin Westby

See the source imageIt is with great sadness that we have heard of the sad passing of our dear friend Martin Westby. Martin was a proud Sheffielder, a renowned Sheffield author, and a great friend and supporter of Hallam Football Club.

He was a focus historian and a wonderful character to have around, his knowledge and passion for local football was unsurpassed by anyone. Martin loved everything about Sheffield and its football heritage and was so proud of the work he had done with The Sheffield Home of Football project including the brilliant Walking Tour App.

Our sincere condolences go to Martin’s wife, Judith, and the rest of his family at this very sad time. He will be sadly missed by all of his friends at Hallam Football Club and will always have a place not only in our history but also in our hearts.

RIP Martin
